Dead Weight

This is the final stage of the Grieving Process – Acceptance. The images in Dead Weight transition from isolated landscapes, artifacts from past experiences, and clinical notes written in an effort to move forward. The solitary environments present a feeling of isolation and disconnect when dealing with loss or grief which is further amplified by the absence of a human subject. The common reaction to hold objects of importance close during these times is met with a case study, breaking each object down to its basic structure. The result reflects the idea of a place or attachment that once held significance transitioning to an accepted past.
